![]() ![]() ![]() ‘Team Meffert’ AnnouncedMeffert Campaign Office Opens in Edina January 5, 2010 (EDINA, MN) – Jim Meffert’s has hired several key staff people focused on securing the DFL endorsement in his campaign for Congress in Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional district. Meffert entered the race for Congress last month and has been focused on talking with delegates, attending events around the district, and raising funds for the campaign. “I’m excited with the people coming on board – we have a really talented group of campaign veterans working with me to secure the DFL endorsement and take us on to victory in November,” Meffert said. Berrett Gall joined the campaign in December as Meffert’s finance director. Berrett has a great deal of congressional campaign experience having first worked for Congressman Earl Pomeroy (D-ND); served as state director for the DNC (Democratic National Committee) ’50 State Strategy’ in North Dakota, and last cycle working on El Tinklenberg’s campaign for Congress in the 6th District in 2008. Most recently Berrett was finance director with the Susan Gaertner gubernatorial campaign. Kay Lewis comes to Team Meffert from the Paul Thissen for Governor campaign staff where she worked on field, social networking and other duties. Kay is a longtime 3rd district activist and has worked on the DFL coordinated campaign as well as roles in outreach and field. Kay was Deputy Field Director to Senator Terri Bonoff’s congressional campaign in 2008. Kay joins the Meffert campaign as Scheduler and Social Media Coordinator. Kay lives in Eden Prairie where she was raised. Brian O’Shea has joined the campaign as Field Director and will coordinate the overall endorsement and field operation. Brian most recently served as campaign manager for a Minneapolis City Council campaign and previously was a Field Organizer for Obama for America and served as Finance Assistant for Ashwin Madia’s congressional campaign in 2008. Coordinating the campaign effort is Ted Thompson. Ted served as the top political and policy advisor to former Congressman Bill Luther as his chief of staff and previously worked for former Congressman Gerry Sikorski in his Coon Rapids office. In 2000 Thompson ran for the state senate, being the first Democrat to run against now Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Thompson is a native of Edina. “This is an outstanding team of individuals and we’re focused on earning the support of delegates starting with Precinct caucuses next month on our path to winning in November” Meffert added.
